Popular author, speaker, and retreat leader, Alyssa Bormes helps ignite in her audiences a newfound sense of wonder in the Church, through humor, analogy, and an innate gift of storytelling. Her passion is to inspire others to take on greater personal responsibility for their faith and to grow in spiritual maturity.
In her first book, The Catechism of Hockey, Bormes uses the metaphor of hockey and sports devotion to explain the responsibility of Catholic parents to raise their children in the teachings and observances of the Church. She wrote the forward for Contraception and Persecution, the powerful new book by Prof. Charles E. Rice, Professor Emeritus of the University of Notre Dame.
Bormes received her master’s degree in Catholic Studies from the University of St. Thomas with study at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas in Rome, Italy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
